People are scared and confused. We’ve all been fed fear for so long. Many are emotionally worn. I’m not seeing a lot of attempts at empathy on social media.
Both candidates from the controlling parties signed off from this election with the message “keep fighting.” Seems to have worked.
The system is not broken—it’s functioning very, very well. Our enforced hierarchy is designed to divide and conquer the people it seeks to control. These are master manipulators.
Their illusion of control (there are billions of us and a few of them) is maintained only if we continue to let ourselves be led down the path of unending war against ourselves. If we choose, on a daily basis, to enforce the limits/laws/morals imposed upon us, decreeing the ways in which we can think and live and create, that becomes our reality. If we choose to accept manipulators’ beliefs of what our world is, that becomes our reality. This is our current boat. We’re all on it, collectively, at the moment.
You create your reality. You always have and always will. You cannot give your power to someone else—that’s an illusion. What you put out into the world is what you get back. Seek to control others, and you’ll experience those seeking to control you. Love others, and you’ll feel love in return.
So if you think and act as if all (fill in the blank: humans, Democrats, Republicans, immigrants, men, women, etc.) are inherently rotten, that is what you will experience—the worst aspects of the people you meet. That is what you are creating. What you put out comes back. If you think and act as if there is goodness in everyone, you will experience goodness in those you meet. It’s your life to make. There is no wrong way to do it. But there are more painful experiences than others.
Firefighters do not shoot fire at burning buildings. There’s a reason for that.
Fighting creates more, different fighting. War creates more, different war. It does not create peace. That it would is an absurd notion. We’ve all been systematically conditioned to think war (whether between neighbors or on some distant battlefield) will eventually create peace. It’s okay. We’re at this point in the planet’s evolution, and it’s supposed to feel chaotic when things are changing.
There is no popular political party that represents the well-being of the Earth. Or the animals. Or legitimate freedom. But our “two” parties both explicitly support war. And control. Because that is the design, and goal, of this system.
If the relationship between our government and the people was a relationship between a couple, it’d be easy to recognize as manipulative. But unfortunately, this is the norm for government as we know it. Fighting will not fix the relationship. Fighting is what is keeping it in place.
We have the opportunity at this moment to extend empathy and patience to our fellow manipulated, worn-out people of this world, but it’s only possible to extend that love if we first cultivate it within ourselves. What you give to the world is what you are. When a peaceful person enters a room, you can feel it. It makes everyone calmer.
So be as kind as you can muster, to yourself and to others, if you’d like to live in a more loving world. Embody (to the best of your ability) the ideal person in the ideal world in which you’d like to live, and you’ll naturally ripple out that change. When enough people do this, we will collectively live in that world. This is the revolution of the modern age. It’s completely personal. And very simple. It’s up to you.
